A Guide for Students and Parents

Think Safety First


  • Stay home and monitor your health for cold or flu symptoms. Call your doctor if you have symptoms like coughing, shortness of breath, fever, sore throat.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Practice Social Distancing by avoiding unnecessary contact and travel

If you or anyone at your home is exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus please follow directions on the CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/) and notify our principal @ grodriguez2@schools.nyc.gov as soon as possible.

The New York City Department of Education is committed to making three free meals available daily for all NYC children.

  • Beginning March 23, meals will be distributed at more than 400 sites across the city.
  • Three meals a day, including breakfast, will be available to all NYC children
  • Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 1:30 pm at locations across the city.

Laptops / iPads: Students will be provided individual laptops as needed. All students will fill out the Instructional Technology sign out form.

Foundations (FS) 9th Grade

Foundations is using Google Classroom, Remind, and other digital learning apps such as Learning Upgrade, Duolingo, and Padlet. Each teacher will post due dates for assignments. More information can be found on our Cluster Website:

Innovation Transformation

Innovation Transformation (IT) 10th- 11th Grade

IT is using Google Classroom, Schoology and other websites and apps to support online learning. Teachers will post assignments and are available through email, Remind and Zoom. More information is available on our cluster website:

Choices Action Reflection

Choices, Action, Reflection (CAR) 10th- 11th Grade

CAR will be using Google Classroom as the main platform for distributing assignments and communicating with students. We will also use zoom for office hours which will be available throughout the school week.

Achievers (ACH) 12th Grade

ACH is using Google classroom as our hub for assignments. Additional learning apps such as Flipgrid, Padlet, Loom and Zoom will be used to facilitate learning. Assignments will be posted at the beginning of the week with due dates on Fridays. Remind, Classroom announcements and email will be used to communicate with students.
