Brian Wasserman
Assistant Principal
Coming from a family of educators, Brian saw how rewarding a career in education can be. After teaching English in Asia for a year, he dove in as a per diem substitute teacher in the DOE and spent his first year traveling to dozens of schools in the Bronx and Manhattan. He spent the next four years teaching 6th-8th grade common core math in a middle school in the Williamsbridge neighborhood of the Bronx. For the last eight years, he has worked at Manhattan International High School as a math and computer science teacher, and now as an assistant principal. He holds a BS in mathematics from SUNY Oneonta, an MA in secondary math education from CUNY Lehman College as well as an SBL certification from the College of St. Rose. When not at work, he enjoys hiking, practicing guitar, and playing Magic the Gathering. The connections he has with the students in the MIHS community is what drives him to do his best every day, and they are a daily reminder of why he chose this journey.
